The 'Activate the Crater' project was designed to develop an urban park on the island of Lanzarote.
Its design is intended to be self-sufficient thanks to wind turbines and a rainwater collection system. The structure includes shaded areas, sports courts, a skate park, an outdoor gym, and charging stations for electric vehicles.
'Activating the Crater' represents an effort to conceive the site as an example of technological and sustainable development, with measures to reduce environmental impact, control economic expenditure, and promote energy efficiency.
This plan transforms 7 hectares of the coastal strip, regenerating a key space into a high-density residential area, close to the airport and adjacent to the island's main tourist destinations.
‘Activate the Crater’ won first prize in the Playa Honda Park Competition in 2017.
